I don't see how an insect that functions off of nothing more than instincts has anything in common with a puppy or any other mammal.

Doubtful...but I do find it quite ironic that there is more sympathy for these puppies from the left than individuals like Nick Berg, Daniel Pearl, etc...

Yep. Saw this on one of the local news sites (I live in the same town as PowerMacMan). I rarely keep up with local news, as it seems it is mostly depressing stuff like robberies, car accidents, etc. I saw this article and I decided I'll go back to avoiding the local happenings once more.

P.S. - People who do this sort of thing to a defenseless animal are broken in the head, and it is only a matter of time before they do something to another person. Just my opinion.

It's amazing... my dog, Maggie (2.5 yr old Lab/Pointer) is being rushed to the vet since she is acting very, very sick. Swollen elbows the size of golf balls, not moving, trying to throw up, hot nose... my wife is taking her right now while I am at work and my comments exactly, "whatever it takes to make her feel better, call me if you know anything."

And on the other hand, cretons using living animals as target practice.

Last year in my city, some sick 14-18 yr olds murdered a homeless man by burning his home down and taunting him. before the attack they had gone in and poured water on him and told him it was petrol. not to turn this into a vegetarian argument, but there are fundamental differences between killing dogs and killing animals for food. these kids killed the dogs for the FUN of it. the FUN of it. people kill cows for SUBSTANCE. I'm provegetarianism, I'm not one myself though I'd like to be. I enjoy the taste of meat, and I do believe there are health benefits at some level for those who eat meat sparingly. Of course, I can live, and live quite well being a vegetarian, as would the animals.

p.s. the bones are used to create jello.

no, it still wouldn't have been right. maybe if they were starving and had no other way of food i might see how killing a dog would be okay, but killing a dog for the hell of it is not okay. i don't just walk into a barn and start killing all the cows just because i felt like it.

and even if they DID decide to eat the puppies, it still wouldn't have been okay, since that wasn't the mindset in the first place.
