Depends on if that was a shot on a 'build' with or without the 'same' resources. Speculative, of course

BTW, where is that image from? Didn't see it in the sneak peek page.

I sure hope they use that white variation. Soo more esthetic than brushed metal!

Admittedly, brushed metal broke the guidelines, but it does look damn good by itself, to the extent I'm rather sure that's why they pushed it in the first place.

The problem right now is that those top-down gradients REALLY don't work, especially with the widgets. I noted this with 10.3 and it looks like they're only going to get worse. If they were brighter and maybe slightly tinted, it could fit in, but those gradients just lack any 'gloss' or something interesting at all..

Not to mention the square buttons look like shite. I know they're probably just within a resource swap and will eventually be changed but it seems that apple is progressing towards a plasticky interface while their original name for it is AQUA.

If you've ever sat around in the shower or bath in the morning or whatnot haven't you ever noticed that aqua looks more bubbly and not plasticky? *sigh*

ahh...just a little tidbit.

as has been speculated from sources all over the net...the developers release of tiger that was handed out a the wwdc is different than the one that jobs demo'd. the gui in steve's newer version (glossy menubar) was updated somewhat. so they are working on the gui and with 9-12 months before tiger is released i would deduce that the the interface will change even more.

so what you see at the moment ain't necessarily what yer gonna get.

Actually, that's par for the course. Steve's build is always newer then what gets handed out.
