I might have the 5.1 version floppy installation disks. This is really the last version able to run well on the MacOS until the OSX version (even though Office98 was fairly decent).

I'll look to dig them up. Otherwise look for 'classic mac' applications online. There are a few sites that may have the 4.0 version (while it isn't legal, I don't see any loss of revenue from this option and see it more as an archivist saving something from obscurity.

PM me if you can't find what you need.

...and while we're at it, does anyone else know of a site which stores discontinued software for old Macs, along the same lines as The Macintosh Garden does for old Mac games? That would be a great resource!

I was gonna suggest the Garden, but I figured that would lock the thread and all they had were games.

BTW, did you get your old account back with a 0 postcount or something?

The Garden is fantastic, I just wish now there was a similar resource for all other apps. Perhaps they should simply expand their own site to also cover apps. Not quite as cool, but bloody useful in situations like this.

And yes, I did get my old account back, hot diggity damn! 'Cept in its years of not be used, it somehow lost all its posts...oh well

Since we're on the topic of old software, does anyone have an early copy of Aldus Persuasion?

How badly do you need it? And can you wait?

I have a copy of Persuasion v2 (I think) though my IIci has no screen and I have no real way of getting it from old skool to new skool so to speak....
