The Falling Icons are at deviantart in the windows icons section. The *original* wall is buried in the Neowin.net forums but a search with the terms devil_may_cry will yield it.

The original wall is part of a series by BigH. He was a member at Deskmod when the site was still active and had both of them posted there, No Distinction and No Distinction 2. You can temporarily download them both here.

Of course it's not...the PM system can't be stopped. It's official now as soon as Susumu puts it on Devart for download.

I have not passed him the theme.
The promise was broken and it was distributed that it was a test
version. (The tester distributed it. )
will note it in the future.

We want to express our gratitude for digitaljames and XiAP Developer Group.

Guys, relax. There's no need for panic.

@Susumu: Nobody has broken any promise and nobody has distributed nothing. There's no need for any apologies. I dont know who the tester was, but believe me... I dont think he has distributed it.

This particular port, including the OB I have done myself using the Milk 2.2 as the base for the VS.

@ Makki: This is purely a personal port I have made for my own use. What exactly do you mean by a legal port? If u mean if I've asked for permissions, then no I havent ... then again, I've made it for my own personal use, not for distribution or for release.

Are you guys actually thinking I'm the only one who's done or has attempted a port? I personally know atleast 5-6 people who have done a port.

@Fonzie: Close your eyes if you dont want to see Windows screenshots... I can guarantee that if I hadn't declared earlier that it's windows, you wouldn't had known.

Lastly, peace out people, and lets enjoy some good customizations and desks

its obvious your screenshots are windows. this is a mac os x customization screenshot thread. you are posting windows customization screenshots. makes sense? no. Go to some other forums and post your pc-mac-wannabe ugly shots.

This is mac only.

@Javagreen, I know that you use Windows since I snoop around other sites than just this one. Plus I"know" you from SkinDojo and Aqua-soft... I can see that it's Windows because the titlebar widgets are on the wrong side. And no MacOS X IM program sports such an ugly chat interface... there you go.

I'd like to know how you made windows look like that. I used to do theming using litestep and other things, but it would always end up horrid if I tried to do os x type stuff. What apps are you using javagreen?

And so what if he's posting screenies of windows trying to emulate os x? Big deal.

The only valid argument you presented was that this being MAC ONLY .. but like I said before.. I've seen folks posting a couple of PC desks here.. and that exactly, in addition to my mac fondness.. made me post my desks here. Its not that I'm posting desks sporting a plain windows look.

@Fonzie: Mate, if you think that chat interface is ugly, you need to get your eyes examined.. no really you do... its about time

@Tick: Thanks for the sensibility. I'm using the usual suspects, Windowblinds + Objectbar + Y'zdock, Avedesk

Ya, np. It just felt like we were back in the days when certain groups of people were told to sit in the back of the bus, go to the back of resturants to eat, and to only drink from a specific water fountain is all. Kinda offensive in a way.

you know that is not true.

an honest question, seriously, i'm not attacking you or anything. but do you own macs or only pcs?
i could not care less if you posted windows screenshots here. i don't see the point since this is a mac forum and this is "The Offical OS X Customizations Screenshot Thread", but there are worse things in the world to worry about.
i am just curious whether you use both or just one?

Yup I know, just the controls on the chat app give it away, the rest is hard to distinguish, though I own just PCs for now.

Again, I KNOW this is a MAC forum, and I have seen a few PC desktops being posted.. that and my mac fondness, are the only factors that made me consider registering on the board and post, which I eventually did.

Well i must say this once here, That before i had a Mac and was on a PC i was themeaholic and it was themes bby Max Rudberg and Takashi Izawa that really impressed me to the point where once i was able to afford it i bought myself a Mac and now enjoy it top notch.

If i never had the exposure to OSX gui and OSX itself i would probably not own one today.
Everyone has a right to have a presence on the net also please lets drop this arguement pc = ugly Mac = King cuz it doesnt fly. It is only childish bickering.

So for the sake of peace lets call a truce and get on with what we do best themin

@Javagreen

There are a million ways to tell your desktop is not OS X, don't kid yourself. If its the way you like it, than keep it. If you are trying to emulate OS X through GUI, you have a ton of work to do.

Your fonts are all wrong, no matter what, this will always be the thing that sets them apart. Font rendering on OS X and Windows are completely different.

All your shadows are completely off. Some apps have them, some don't. I suppose this would be possible using Windowshade X on OS X, but not in the fashion that you have it.

The dock spacing, placement, corners and shadow are way off, not even close to the real thing.

Your icon labels are not in the correct position, and again, the fonts make my eyes sick.

Your menu bar and menu extras are the wrong size. The menu extras themselves are horrid looking. The little arrow to expand the Windows system tray is an instant give-away as well.

The corners of your apps are clearly windows, windows can not handle true aliased corners the way OS X can, therefore they always look slightly pixelated.

Fonzie was right, no chat app on OS X looks that ugly, and yes, that is ugly.

Window widgets on the wrong side.

Give us a break, its not hard to distinguish at all.

@Tick

The problem is that as soon as one person gets away with it, there are so many out there that try to do this, this thread will end up half windows-wanna-be's and half the real thing. I don't know about you, but I come to this thread to see Mac OS X shots, not Windows. There are a million other forums out there to look at Windows desktops. I don't see how it is segregation at all. If he wants to start a thread called the Windows Screenshots Thread, then go-ahead, but this thread has one specific purpose, and posting windows screenshots is simply off-topic.

If you are interested in doing the same thing that Javagreen did, and even better, check out Aqua-Soft.org and AquaXP.com. Both are good resources and should provide you will all the information that you need. Aqua-Soft in particular has been around since 10.0 days

Big AKUS fan
Question! Is there a way to change the font used by OS X by default without theming? And, if there is, how is it done, and what font is that? It looks so much nicer than Lucida Grande (it's a little large for my taste).

Wow Liz, you're proof that women certainly do have the style and decoration gene that we men don't have.

Too bad there aren't but a literal handful of women on these message boards to give out some good desktop decoration tips.

If people want to show off their PC screen shots, why not create a separate thread on it? This one does say OSX customizations?
That said, I don't think it'll be very popular and will elicit flaming on both sides but better somewhere else than polluting this thread.
