Any definite word on battery life? I hope to hear something solid by tomorrow once a good amount of people on this forum receive their MacBook Pros. Also, I am interested to find out about the Airport reception with the antenna moving from the sides of the screen to the hinge . . .

I wonder if things will turnout like XBox 2; Those lucky individuals who get the small shipment can sell them on eBay for twice the price...

I sure hope they don't have the same heat issues as the XBox 360s, otherwise we will have a lot of sore laps and heated complaints on macnn . . .

FINALLY SHIPPED! I ordered my BTO the day of the Keynote speech, within an hour of the MB being available at the Apple Online Stores. My credit card had been hijacked (triangulated to be specific), so I contacted the bank, and they assured me that the CC would go thorugh with the Apple transaction before it was cancelled once and for all. On Friday I checked the delivery status on the hour (as typical) and saw that the CC had been declined! AARGH. I got then a new CC number within 60 seconds and have been waiting ever since. I was hoping that the incident did not push me to the end of the line. (As I raise my glass...)"Here's to finally getting back to work after weeks of obsessive threading, crying, cursing, etc. PLEASE come by Thursday. Thats all I ask. Daddy needs to get some work done.

So if your MBP shows up in your local FedEx delivery hub Friday after the trucks have went out for delivery will they deliver on Saturday or Monday? Anybody know?

Quick question, say for you bpd, what was your original expected ship date, and what kind of shipping did you have? I'm wondering if I should upgrade my shipping now

Well, I just jumped aboard -- will be replacing my TiBook 667 with a stock 2.0.
But since I'm late to the party, I'm not shipping until March 22....

Original ship date was Feb. 15th (ordered on Jan. 11th)...pushed then to the 28th...shipped on the 18th. I used the free shipping.

Don't bother with the 2 day shipping.

Did any of you that are going to receive your MBP soon order the 1.67 (now 1.83) model? Or are these all 2.0's/2.16's?

I want my 1.83 to ship!

Just got confirmation mine has shipped. Ordered on the 25th of january. Had initial ship date of 24 march, removed the additional battery from the order and put it onto its own order, ship date changed to 25 February. After upgrade to 2.0 ship date changed to 4 march then down to 3 march. Laptop just shipped 21 Feb so 4 days early instead of a week late, I like that.

When I got my then brand-new 12-in PB 3 years ago, I missed the Fed Ex guy by minutes also. When he returned, he said he could NOT leave that particular item at the door, he HAD to have a person and a signature. Some deal with Apple, I'm sure.

I love reading these posts. Reminds me of when the 12-in and 17-in PBs first came out and how obsessively we all were posting shipping times, dates, progress, etc.

Mine is out for delivery as well.

Don't you love surprises? First it was the 3-4weeks turning into 3 days, now it's being delivered a day early. NICE!

I ordered mine on January 12th and had an estimated ship date of Feb 15th with arrival on the 23rd. Since I received it today, I do have to say they were pretty good with that arrival date. I love when they deliver early!

The stats: Ordered Jan.12th - MTO, MBP 1.83 with 2gb RAM and 120gb HD

REGULAR SHIPPING - DID NOT UPGRADE SHIPPING!

Free upgrade to 2.0 ghz on Valentines Day (thank you Steve!)

Shipped Feb.19th

FedEx said expected delivery was the 23rd. But a peek today showed it was on the truck.

Truck pulled up 20 minutes ago.

I just pulled it out of box, and WOW! It's thin and widescreen! I had a 12" iBook and this blows it away from a size perspective.

The packaging is very pretty.

The machine is cold - I am waiting until it reaches room temp before I switch it on.

Mag safe is charging the batteries - I will post a more comprehensive report with photos this afternoon.

What a GREAT suprise!

I rarely pay for the 2-day shipping, but I can't say I agree with you. Usually with products like this (ie. brand new, short supply, shipped direct from China), paying for the 2-day shipping doesn't help. However, with other products I've had stuff take as long as 10 days or so to get to me cuz I didn't pay for the express shipping. The worst part is the fact that some of the other shipping companies don't have a reliable online tracking system, so you have no idea when it will arrive.

Mind you, I'm in Canada, so things may be a bit different here.

Unboxed my 2.0 Ghz, 7,200 RPM 100 GB, 1 GB RAM, MBP 30 minutes ago. Unreal that it went from Alaska to Ft. Lauderdale in 36 hours. Battery at 95%, 15 minutes until full. Pulled the MagSafe connector for a second, and battery life showed 4:05 with Better Energy Savings set. That is before conditioning. Hardly scientific, but a great start. I've never seen 4 hours on my G4.
