Hello mods,
I've been a good boy this year. This year for Christmas I would like to have Abe back. Thank you!

Was Abe the "full ban" or was he only blocked from the PWL?

I liked Abe because he was crazy. Kevin and Rob are just ordinary obnoxious people.

It's not, but on the internet our mental illnesses are private and our identities anonymous. Who's to say that I'm not mentally ill myself, or into bestiality or something?

If it's private, why is it so painfully obvious to me the guy is hurting?

Should people that are possibly hurting be banned?

Bans come from repeated, consistently antisocial behavior - and sadly, only after many attempts to convince the member to behave more appropriately. If someone's "hurting" is serious enough that they can't be slightly civil here, that gets them banned, NOT the "hurting."
As an occupational therapist, I take mental illness extremely seriously. But there's a difference between erratic behavior that's due to mental illness and erratic behavior that's due to a person being an ..........antisocial jerk.
Whatever Abe's issue(s), he resisted staff's attempts to get him to change his online behavior, at least here. Sadly, nobody can help someone who doesn't want and actively resists help. In contrast, Kevin's behavior was consistent with poor social development, basically throughout his life. He seemed to not understand that he had to conform to rules to participate here. That's not "mental," that's "attitude," and he earned his ban.

Glenn, you may be thinking of Rob. Kevin I recall being into photography and trains, and was reasonable most of the time.
Also, abe isn't banned. He just hasn't visited in awhile.

If you guys could have any one person back who left voluntarily, who would it be? I'd have to go with Doofy.

There's a bunch.
Max and OĆsin spring to mind, though Doofy would be cool as well.
Cipher13 will always hold a special place with me for leading the charge against NewsFactor.
Spliffdaddy... the other Dakars.
I know you said one. I'm bad at following instructions.

One of the previous Dakars. They were so much nicer than the Final guy.

Well, shit. That means a few of them have died already, and we need to hire lookalikes or do CG.
Is the Dakar who's good with computers one of the dead ones?

Actually he was a producer for a mid-size label, and did some studio work, but I guess that's close enough.

If that's the case, he certainly didn't have much issue with making it sound more impressive than that.

When you hobnob with rock stars nearly every day and work with them in the studio, you tend to think of yourself as one of them.

And to be fair to Doofy, being a successful producer is a big deal. Wrestling those egos is no small feat.
However, it does not justify pink hot pants.

Did he really? The last post I saw of his he said he was just leaving macnn. He nuked some of his posts but so do a lot of people here. He seemed very educated, I liked reading his perspective.
