Hi!

For the last week or so (or at least since I upgraded to 10.6.4), my apple mail continues to be unable to download from gmail. It just has the spinning wheel like it is working to download my mail continuously for hours on end with no success. My mail settings are absolutely configured to correctly, I have checked multiple times.

Any idea how I can fix this big problem?

Thanks!

My first thought would be to delete Mail's plist under /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist, replacing "yourusername" with your user name. This will rest all of your Mail preferences to defaults and I'm fairly certain you'll have to set your email up over again.

You might be able to get away with just deleting your Gmail account and reentering it again.

I would see if you can download your mail under a different OS X account on that same computer.

I am having the very same problem for the past two days. Two out of my three different Gmail accounts are working fine in Mail.app. My main gmail account only has the spinning pin wheel. Connection doctor says everything is fine. Any other suggestions??

Delete the account and add it in again. If you have it set for IMAP, you shouldn't lose anything.

Tried it, same thing. Now it will load new messages but still the spinning wheel. Seems like it's loading the same message for each attempt I made at reloading the mail account. 4 now.
