Installed it. No "apparent" changes, but at least it doesn't crash on my USB hub now.

Adds support for the new Sony Ericsson T610! I hope to get that as my new phone in the summer (apparently it's not out yet, right?)

Yeah, I've been looking around and the only date I've found for release was Jun 1 (from here)

Anyone have any more solid info?

Well I'll tell you what - I've been to the US version of the Sony Ericsson site and it does not list the T610, so I manually punch in the URL (www.sonyericsson.com/t610) and it gives me everything I want to know except anything about a U.S. version or a release date.

In North America, it is being called the T616 -- and will be released in Q3 2003.

Elsewhere, it is called the T610, and will be available Q2 2002. The Chinese version will be called the T618.

Looks like a cool phone; if it is light enough, small enough, and has decent battery life, I may get it.

It really sucks that the cell phones in the USA are so large and feature-lacking compared to phones you can get elsewhere (Korea, Japan, and much of Europe). Ah well.

It would really make my day if Apple listed "Snappier" as one of the enhancements.

It's a sad joke that Apple advertises support for that new Sony Ericcson phone, when 10.2.5 was supposed to support the slightly older P800, and I've found not a single soul who's gotten their P800 to work in AddressBook (ie, dial phone, send SMS, etc.).

It weighs 3.8 ounces (and yes, thats with a built in camera), and here is a great review with great pictures:

http://www.mobile-review.com/review/...-t610-en.shtml

And for the battery (found in the review):

Few words about the battery. The phone has a lithium-polymer battery of 750 mAh capacity. According to the manufacturer, it can provide up to 14 hours of talking time and up to 400 hours of standby time. The phone doesn?t have such autonomy when you use even all features. For example, if you talk about 1.5 hours, use bluetooth during one day and sometimes activate IrDa, the phone can work operate about 4 days (Moscow networks, Beeline, MTS). Other applications were used about 20-25 minutes. The longest autonomy in case of minimal using of different applications and 2 hours of talking was about 5 days. These results are comparable with ones of Sony Ericsson T68i. Taking into account more advanced phone capabilities and better screen, it?s not bad. A time of full re-charging is about 2-2.5 hours.

Also found a little video on the site which I didn't see before, shows basic menu navigation speed:

Wow. Thanks for the link to this very cool phone review. This may very well be my next phone replacing my t68i. Althourgh it looks very simular to my old Nokia, the features and size can't seem to be beat. Let's hope for a US version (come on AT&T), and iSync compatibility!

Maybe a moderator can rename the thread "Cell phone selection guide and reviews".

Or weed out the cell phone posts and put them into their own thread...

was the 'open with' option always there in contextual menus for documents, or is it a feature of 10.2.6?
