Following on the heels of a new charging dock for the Apple Watch, the company has also quietly introduced a new Space Black link bracelet expansion kit option to match the Space Black stainless steel version of the Apple Watch. Previously, only the standard stainless steel bracelet had an expansion kit available. The kits offer extra links to expand the band, making it more comfortable for those with larger wrists. The kit, available in other styles as well, adds up to 40mm in additional links to the 42mm bracelet bands.

As with the other kits, the new Space Black link bracelet expansion works with the release button mechanism on the Watch to allow users to add the links without the need of tools. The kit is available now from Apple's online store, and costs $49. The Space Black link bracelet itself costs $549.

IBM's Watson Trend deduces Apple Watch to be 2015's most popular gift

Just in time for the holiday buying season, IBM today launched a new app and service called Watson Trend, which uses online chatter in the form of reviews, expert blogs, and social media to determine what gift options people are talking about. The results portend both good and bad news for Apple, as although the service says the Apple Watch is -- by far -- the top gift being talked about this year, it also notes that many buyers imagine that a new model will be introduced next summer, and may thus be holding out.

The belief comes from rumors and speculation based in Asia that Apple will introduce an "Apple Watch 2" next year, though sources within Apple itself have cast doubt on the idea of new hardware anytime in the foreseeable future, saying the company's focus is on improving software and accessories. Watson Trend, which pulls online chatter from 100,000 sources, has noted that the online talk about the Apple Watch has been "very positive, with few detractors" and that the release of watchOS 2 in September allayed some concerns with the device. Other popular gift options include DSLR cameras, Star Wars and Lego merchandise, and the Minecraft wearable Gameband.
