Hi, I'm looking for a good condition Ibook G4 with at least:
CPU: 1GHZ
RAM: 512 RAM
The rest doesn't matter but it needs to be in good in working order.
Budget is low - $400 shipped. I'm thinking it should be possible since new technologies are coming out rapidly.
Thanks

You really do need to up your budget if you want to get those specs.

Really? I been using windows all my life and so I thought that's pretty reasonable since I can find an IBM T40 1.5GHZ, 512MB, 40GB under $400. What make G4 more expensive?

Oh, now you're literally comparing apples and lemons (and getting some free bumps).

$400 1Ghz iBook with 512MB
Keep in mind this only has a CD-ROM drive. I am in no way associated with this guy nor have I purchased from him.
Macs hold their value better than the average PC in a big part because they can run OSX and other systems cannot. When you go to buy a Mac you aren't deciding between Dell & HP & IBM, etc. You are deciding between the iBook, Macbook/Pro iMac, etc. Plus these aren't entry level systems relative to entry level PCs hardware-wise. An entry level Mac will be generally better equipped than an entry level PC.
Techound1 is right in that you will have better luck if you could up your budget to $500 or so but maybe that's not possible. You will get more out of it when it comes time to resell than that IBM too I'd venture to guess.
Good luck!

Thanks, I'm in a REALLY tight budget and I don't think the Ibook is worth that much. I guess I'll stick with the T40s, is more of a bargain.
