Has anyone seen any internal pics of the new 1.9/2.1GHz iMacs? - when the flat panels first came out Apple had pics but they don't appear to have any for the news ones - anyone got one and willing to provide a picture?

TIA

Apple had pix of the internals of the "old" one because it was user-serviceable. The new one is explicitly not user-serviceable.

They don't let you install RAM yourself? Seems like a step backwards.

Hmm..I think I prefer the previous model - I'm not that excited by Front Row or the built in camera, though I like the slimmer design and faster overall design.

From the looks of it the memory is accessed through a panel on the bottom edge, the back casing doesn't come off anymore as the old one did.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

That is interesting. I thought it was rather amazing how user-servicable the original was. Just the though of easily upgrading the HD in a non-Powermac tower was quite a breakthrough.

This is how Apple was able to make it thinner. By eliminating all the user-friendly stuff.

I'd say about 24 hours after the actually ship, some Japanese site will have a total tear-down posted. Should be interesting.

Yes, maybe I just need to wait a little while.

Perhaps they've designed this one properly and you won't NEED to be able to take the back off!
