I thought I'd see what Google maps would come up with, but it can't find 4340, there's a 4338 and a 4344. I don't know how recent this is though.

They're definitely working at home all around the globe. There is no physical location. I think that's one of their programmers old addresses!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Yeah, a lot of smaller software companies don't have some big proper office.

I've been lead to believe that they have some form of an office in Russia...

Is that just a US PO Box so they can handle US Credit cards or something?

Even though I personally feel that APe = Norton Utilities...
My company is as legit as they come, and it's only address is a PO BOX. Offices are expensive.

Unfortunately, I believe all of you are wasting your time—Unsanity is dead. No company, little or not, can go without responding to their customer base and have any hope of remaining in the marketplace. It takes no effort at all for Unsanity to post at their blog. The Unsanity party is over and as their beta haxies start failing to work with newer system updates/upgrades they will simply be deleted. What's worse is how there were many other smaller developers who relied on APE to get their application out to us; they too are screwed unless they rid themselves of APE.

So Unsanity are screwed because they don't blog? Are you serious?

If Unsanity dies, I really doubt it will be for lack of blogging. Posting every day to say "Nothing new LOL" wouldn't help one bit.

It's called "communication." I also happen to know some small developers who were working with Unsanity for their apps, and they've heard nothing. Funny, how many other blogs have developers' constantly posting and asking for feedback, like Agile Web Solutions, et al. I doubt that any of the Unsanity players would ever may it in a corporate environment, and if they had been in corporate, I can understand why they no longer are.

Also, Chuckit, your being a MacNN moderator you should have some sway...why haven't you contacted Unsanity and posted the feedback you receive from them on your forums?

I completely agree with you on this.
Its really not that hard or time consuming in any way to throw us a bone once in a while.

Indeed, and there seems to have been some life over at ResExcellence, too, other than the whining idiots down in "the pit." Perhaps Unsanity has come back from the dead...?

Yes, there is a Leopard-ready version of Application Enhancer, but not for ShapeShifter.

Not sure about you folks, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an all-dark theme combined with this desktop:

Maybe they can give me a transparent menu bar for my iMac since it's currently not.

Hacking the menubar to be transparent isn't that hard. Hacking it to be transparent in the same way as the Leopard menubar, on the other hand, is pretty tough and I really doubt you'll see it as just a feature of some theme.

I hope it's a good replacement for Themepark/Shapeshifter. It's been too long.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Sometimes I just wish that Apple would write a theming preference pane (let's call it Visor)... then Visor would allow you to change colors, opacity levels, etc. in quite a bit more detail than "Aqua"/"Graphite" and allow you to save custom themes. I can't imagine such an app being so impossible to create.

So here's the deal. It's not APE based, but you need a sister application to apply the themes.

¿So is that today or some future Sunday?
Technically "next Sunday" is always a week away
Maybe if it said "this' Sunday"

Dunno, but that looks pretty neat. My guess is it works more like Duality, where it directly alters Extras.rsrc.

More info is in my article, the developer commented.

http://www.appletell.com/apple/comme...ery-promising/

As for the date, I was hoping that was today... but now it looks like next Sunday. And next Sunday it'll look like the Sunday after that.

Here's your answer, fishbulb...
Architect Delayed Due to Critical Error

As the lead engineer for Architect's development, I would like to extend a sincerest apology to the community for what will be a relatively short delay in Architect's public preview publication. A critical error in the codebase was just recently discovered in preparation for release, and in an effort to never release inferior software, it has been decided that the issue must be remedied before we can distribute Architect outside of our private beta testers. The repairs to the codebase will take approximately two days; if at all possible, we will be releasing the Architect preview on Wednesday, September 3rd. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

This is really the only good way to go. Code signing breaks the patching route.

One can even be tricky and safely replace the Extras.rsrc/CoreUI resources by using disk images. Going this route means that the original files on the drive aren't even altered.

It looks like they're going the CoreUI route though which means there is little to no hope of importing guikits. CoreUI uses a completely different system.

I think CoreUI pretty much eliminates the need for patching anyway.

Not to mention that the Extras.rsrc is only used for scrollbars these days.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.
