I just opened up:
-Apple Care for my new G5 (after buying it... I couldn't afford Apple Care too)
-iPod Nano (Black, 2GB)
-iPod Nano Clear Case

What did you guys / gals get ? (from other people, not a purchase for yourself!)
yep.

Well I recently bought myself a 30 gig iPod which I love. That said... I HATE MY FELLOW BEST BUY EMPLOYEES!

I was supposed to get for Christmas a set of JBL creature speakers. Well turns out the people I work with are morons! Because they've all seen me fall in love with those speakers, and when they were on sale I told my mom to go in and get them because she could get them for cheaper than I could with my discount. Well the MORON who sold her a set of speakers for me, told her we didn't have anything for 100 bucks but that we did have a set of 120 dollar CREATIVE speakers... CREATIVE! They might as well be Microsoft! I mean if my mom had just messed up I wouldn't be mad I'd simply exchange them, but that someone I work with actually told her not to get what I wanted but instead sold her these!? THAT PISSES ME OFF!

That said, I also got a Philips razor which I like from my sister, a toiletries bag, a hoodie from old navy, some work out gloves, a water bottle, a collectable coin thing (I dono my dad's weird), some money, a tie, and that's about it.

That said what I got for people!
I got my mom a Mac mini, Apple keyboard and Kensington studio mouse, it's her first Mac and she loves it. And I put 400 dollars towards a Maikita tool set for my dad. As well I got my sister one big ol jewellery box and a bag. I also got the three year service plan that I'm seriously considering returning on the Mac mini now... actually if they don't give me the speakers I want for the sale price I'm going to return the service plan I bought on my iPod!

This is odd. So I have a new iPod but it connect by usb2, not firewire. I tried connecting it with a firewire cable that came with my previous iPod but the screen says this: "FireWire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the usb cable provided." Does that mean that I have to upgrade to usb2? Am I screwed?

It will work on USB1, but it will be slow at transferring. What Mac have you got demograph68? If its a Powermac you should be able to put a USB2 card in there pretty cheaply (£20-£30 for a 2 port card here).

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

You can use regular old USB 1.1, but it'll be slow. Depends on what size you got - with my Nano it really isn't a big deal. If it's one of the regular iPods though that does indeed suck.

I understand the reasoning behind it but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Well, I didn't get the $18,000 Quad G5, but I did get an iMac upgrade

My dad brought home one of the latest and greatest imacs with the isight and front row to replace my 1st gen G5 iMac... which I got for Christmas last year.

Owning a store thats an Authorized Apple Reseller is a major plus , I just trade in my 1 year old stuff for the latest version. good times.

My sister gave me a G4 cube case -- just the case, no guts inside -- and put a kleenex box in it. It's very cool. It's going on my desk at work.

My wife bought me an iPod Video 60GB and the Apple Care plan. Even better, she didn't drain our checking account to do it!

It was a nice, thoughtful gift!

I got another Macmini for xmas. The fully loaded one. Was hoping for an iMac G5 but I'm not going to complain. I'll wait for a rev 2 of the current model anyway or the Intel one. So no biggie.
