hi folks,
just a little announcement for you all
Samira Apple Arnsbarger was born on March 8th @ 8:22 am at Memorial hospital in South Bend, IN.
just got home and put up a quick website with a lot of photos of our new addition! (yes Apple is her middle name- read below)

Mother & Dad made it through the delivery drug free and are doing great! Both her and baby are in excellent health!

Samira means "good friend" in Arabic and we already think she fits it perfectly. We may call her Sam for short since it was her fathers name.

http://homepage.mac.com/sonordrum/PhotoAlbum64.html

wish us luck with our new family.

Kent, Shawn and Samira
(our 1st child)

P.S. We named her Apple because when she was a few months along she was as big as an apple. not because we love our Macs! (nor did Gweneth influence us)

Congrats, man, that is awesome. It seems like yesterday that I was going through the same exciting experience, but it has already been 5 years since then. Best wishes to you and your family.

I imagine she was also the size of a grape at one stage, and later even a pineapple. Why specifically Apple?

Congratulations,

You would've scored morre points in a Mac forum if you would've said that you named her after your favorite computer company (even if it wasn't true...)

Congrats!!!

We had our first a little over 16 months ago. Expecting number 2 in September.

A tiny piece of advice: Look into your child's eyes everyday. There is a pureness and (no word to describe)ness there.

The first 6 weeks are the toughest. And once they learn to crawl it's even better. (ours is running everywhere now).

Congratulations!

Welcome to the world Samira Apple!

Makes me realize more and more how much I would like to become a father. Unfortunately, that is not possible at this time (wife has health issues).

Enjoy every moment. Love her. Cherish her.

Congratulations!

Our little Met fan came last October. I'll echo everything Kilby and everyone else here is saying about being a parent. (except the crawling part -- we're not there yet!)

The first six weeks are definitely the toughest, becuase not only are you trying to get used to this new person, but she's changing every day and sometimes you're racing just to keep up. It gets does get marginally easier after that -- if only because you get used to it!

The thing that I learned from this whole experience is that every one of us started out like these children of ours have --- small and meek and needing constant love and attention to develop, but full of potential. It really puts your relationships with other human beings in perspective...

The pic of Great Grandma making a "kissy-face" is beautiful, man. You need to clean that pic up (color and all) and get it printed and framed ASAP. I have a soft spot for Grandmas holding their grand babies -- it brings a tear to my eye every time i see it.

Congrats.

Now start investing $166 per month into an ESA so little Sam can have her college paid for when she's ready. =)
