The function (F) keys on my PowerBook do things like volume control by default. If I want to actually hit F4, I have to use the 'fn' key. I want to change this to be the other way around. I've looked around in System Preferences, but I can't seem to find anything. Surely there is a way to do this, isn't there?

It's built into Panther as long as you have the latest updates. I was able to remove a hack, which can't be a bad thing.

If you have panther, in System Preferences>Keyboard & mouse>Keyboard, check the box labelled "Use the F1-F12 keys for custom actions" - this inverts the role of the Fn key
