Software Update hung while downloading/installing the new G5 firmware update. I had to force quit out. Now the G5 firmware update isn't showing up. Any ideas on how to force a download?

It hung? Are you sure?
Anyway, it is in Apple System profiler. Or just go to the Apple menu, about this Mac. More info.

Definitely hung.
Solved it by booting from another drive. downloading and updating...
Yet another reason to have a small partition with a clean install on it....

Check your Utilities folder. My firmware updater is in there...
For the record, the firmware update went fine here...

Just installed this Firmware Update and noticed (2) small things:
1.) I am dissappointed to see the "old" school OS 9 Firmware update screen/UI...why not an OS X Firmware updater?
2.) Did anybody else's CD tray open up during this update? If not, mine did and closed on it's own. Was it the G5 sticking it tongue out at me? I thought only iMacs did that!
Other than that, everything went flawless...

My dad's sawtooth does this every time when starting up. I have tried everything to rid it of some daemon [sic] living in his firmware, all to no avail.

Mine did it too. No big deal, but mine opened it, then closed it.
