Dual G5 owners with Photoshop 7.01, I need your help.
When I use "Save for web" File menu option on just 72 dpi jpegs, it takes like 1min 30 sec to 2 minutes just to bring up the "save for web" options window.
WTF? Why is this excruciatingly so slow? I've tried messing with the PS prefs and nothing seems to alleviate this problem.
I get a spinning beach ball for 1.5 minutes on a 600x600 72dpi jpeg image!!!
Can you guys do a simple test and see if you are getting slowdowns?
thanks

I didn't know Apple sold G5s with 1.5 MB of RAM. Hmm, you learn something new everyday.

LOL! I think you're mixed up. You mean to say that your G5 has 1.5 GB of RAM, not MB.
Oh, and I'm sorry but I can't help you out. I'm not lucky enough to have a G5 yet.

I'd say that it's something specific to your machine in some way. It takes about 1 sec to load that dialog on a 1.8 G5/1.5 GB RAM that I tested on.

Wasn't there a Photoshop plug-in released for G5 owners to help speed it up, or take advantage of the G5?

Sometimes I experience slowdowns when dialogs that deal with the file system (i.e. saving to disk) or what not have to deal with mounted CDROMs or iDisk folders.
Before you go reinstalling everything, eject all of the removable media, including your iDisk, and try it again. This has helped me in the past, but of course YMMV.
