Please help me! I have new (second hand) G4 Cube. i played a few DVD's and the DVD player and drive was operating well. Then, i updated to MAC OS 9.2.2 via a pop-up box that appeared with software updates. Also in that software update panel was an entry for DVD-ROM updates. I clicked on both the 9.2.2 and the DVD-ROM update to download and off it went.
Today, i pop in a DVD and open DVD player 2.3 and CRASH!! Again and again it crashed. It's not working at all, wont even let the controller open or recognize the disk. I tried another disk and same result. CD's are operating normally, so i know it is something in the software -- either the application or the new, stupid update I downloaded. (I hate those things)
I would truly appreciated for someone to tell me what is the best course of action to rectify this situation. Is there a copy of DVD Plauer I can download from my OS disks or can i get it at apple.com
Also, what can I do about that update? How can I delete it or replace it with the old file.
All help would be appreciated. I am a new member of MacNN and i love this place! So far i have received great advice and help
