Hi --

I have two brand new iPod Photo 40GBs. I am having trouble getting BOTH of them to mount on my PowerBook -- it's intermittent. I've tried swapping the FireWire cables between the two of them, and nothing changes.

I've also tried it on ANOTHER PowerBook, and it's intermittent there too.

Weird also: when plugging the iPod from one computer onto the other PowerBook, you know how iTunes asks if you want to replace the music library? Well, if I click no, the iPod instantly disappears from the desktop. Is it supposed to do that? I wouldn't think so...regardless of what I want to do in iTunes, it ought to be a FireWire disk, right?

Hoping someone can help...

UPDATE: They both seem to behave much more happily and normally if the iPod is plugged into an external hard drive (with external power supply), when is then plugged into the PowerBook. This befuddles me even more...
