Has anybody else done their taxes? I've put all my prelim data into the TurboTax web site, but I'm going to wait until I get all my "official" paper statements. The result? I *owe* $1279 (US).

At least you don't have to pay interest for holding their money for months.

Dang... You owe more than $1000? What did you do this last year?

I haven't touched my taxes. I'm waiting for my employers to send W2's as well. I'm bound to get something back, but I'm not happy to know that for some bizzare reason, Utah thinks they deserve taxes on the money I made when I was living in Oregon (bizzare??)

Same here. Also waiting for statements from mortgage company.

Anybody here using TurboTax or Taxcut? I'm thinking this year I'm going to do my taxes on my Mac.

All of the relevant data should be on your last check stub of the year.

I always wait until early Feb because I have various tax documents that come in that I had forgotten about (1099-INT or some charity receipts or whatever). I have everything I know of plugged into TurboTax around the 1st so that I have an idea of whether I owe or whether I get a refund.

Same situation here. My wife and I don't have our W2s yet.

Ah, yes. That occurred to me last night, so I went ahead and did my taxes using my final stub and last year's W2 as a point of reference.

I got my 1099 in December, but my wife's W2 won't be ready for a week or so, so that's what I have to wait for. It's definitely a different situation from last year: I retired from the Air Force and now I have to figure out the ins and outs of a 1099 and so on... Probably not a problem, but more new and different is not something I'm looking forward to.s

It's too late to do either and still have it deducted for 2005 isn't it? I've maxed out my IRA's, so that's out too. The reason why I owe so much is due to a few stock transactions. I'm using TurboTax online which seems to be pretty good thus far.

I'm not sure about the 401k, if you can back contribute. I know that with IRAs, you can still contribute to 2005. The rest of it was largely a joke (house, kids, etc)

I have used TT/web based for over 5 years nottaproblemo....

no dowloads, no s/w installs ect ect, just fill in the blanks, print & submit. 7 days later = refunds in da bank
Personally I find it hilarious that you have the hots for my gramma. Especially seeins how she is 3x your age, and makes your Brittney-Spears-wannabe 30-something wife look like a rag doll who went thru WWIII with a burning stick of dynamite up her a** :)

I've done my taxes over the web for the past few years, This year presents a problem. I worked and lived in two states. So I'm gonna be giving someone a lot of money.
