We're testing https access this weekend. Some problems have turned up already, and more are possible.

Login problems: Don't log out if you can avoid it. You may have trouble logging back in. - seems to be fixed.

In-site links: we had to turn off URL rewrites for the weekend, they were breaking https links completely. In-forum bookmarks won't work.

Some images randomly fail to load, like buttons. Probably temporary cache issues that will fix themselves.

Will bookmarks function again, or should I remake them?

Laminar, that doesn't look familiar. Since the URL address is all wrong, something redirected your window. We'd be interested in which ad did the redirecting, though I'm not sure how to catch it. Your history will only show the last page you chose, not the ad responsible.

I had to turn vBSEO off because it couldn't handle http and https at the same time. It allows only one site root, so if it was set to the http version, it would rewrite all the https in-forum links to kick people back to the http version. We could set up separate servers and manually update the files, using two copies of vBSEO. Or force everyone to the https version, which hasn't been tested much. But vBSEO is discontinued anyway (they seem to have gone out of business) so ... still thinking about this one.

Suggest updating your bookmarks. The site is currently using plain-vanilla vB links. If we turn vBSEO back on, vanilla-links will still resolve. They work under both conditions.

For anyone who follows an in-forum link and still gets a 404. Say when going to a subforum or opening a favorite thread. Clear your browser cache and restart your browser. That should fix it.

Browsers are caching the rewritten URLs, which do not work at present.
