Exactly.
Redstone is just grandstanding, acting like he's Louis B. Mayer and we're back in 1942 or something when studios had exclusive contracts with major stars.
These days big stars have their own production companies- Paramount is just smoke screening their breaking of a contract, because they finally wised up to the fact that all they've been doing is bankrolling Cruise's production company with way too much dough, for nowhere near the return they expected. Warner Brothers, Fox, Dreamworks and everyone else have been reaping the rewards, while Paramount has been footing bills and pretending it buys them some kind of exclusivity.
The "bad behavior" excuse is just laughable! Money is the only thing Viacom gives two squats about. They put too many eggs in one basket, failed to make an omelet, now they want out, pure and simple.
