Hey guys,

back in the day, when I had dreams every night of someday owning a 12" PowerBook, I was doing my daily scroll-through of what used to be called "The PowerBook Picture Thread", and I noticed something some guy sxates had done, putting an anti-static scrap in the apple window. Since I will be replacing my screen, I want to do something like this, but I'm not sure what I can do that will have light show through it. Should I be worried about static electricity?

Just make sure you ground yourself on some metal before working on the machine. You should be OK. Don't go walking around in wool socks.

Before you start opening up your mac, there is a company I remember seeing that make stickers however you want them designed that are made to fit directly over the apple logo so you do not have to mess with the insides......

here found them. SkinStyler, Macbook Trackpad Protection Skin

I have to open the mac up, I have to replace the screen. I have a lot of experience with computer hardware, and I've done Macbooks before, no need to worry.

Well I finally did it, I didn't have anything else laying around, so I took text from a story that I read in lit the other day about a bar fight. The picture is terrible, it actually looks pretty cool!

Mac Mod Adds LCD Screen Behind Apple Logo | Gadget Lab | Wired.com

This is one of the coolest mods I've ever seen. Here's the tutorial.

That link is crazy sick... CRAZY SICK! I don't think I'd ever do it though, partly because it'd lower the battery life, partly because I'm not THAT comfortable mucking around in my machine (though I just took my Macbook's base apart today to fix my loose keyboard cable connection... only one missing screw!)
