All I read is people waiting for it or complaining. As I'm about to place an order, I would like to know if someone has any positive experience.

Aside from the delays in actually getting the system from Apple, I have no complaints.
My Dual 2.5GHz G5 is FAST, quiet, and stable. I am extremely pleased with it, and I think it was *WELL* worth the wait (I ordered mine at 6:36AM PST on 6/9/2004 and received it on 8/12/2004, which is actually faster than a lot of other 6/9 orders).

So it's really quiet?
Other than reducing by 500% my After Effects render time, I can't wait to get a quiet machine. I can't stand the noise of my old G4.

Yes, it is definitely quieter than a G4. I have a G4 DP800 and a G5 DP2.5 and there is a dramatic difference. The only noisy item is the CD drive, like any computer. The only problem is the wait for a DP2.5. Try getting one at a Apple Retail Store or Reseller and don't get the Nvidia Geforce 6800.

We got a Dual 2.5 at work, and the sucker is fast, stable, and gorgeous. I also just got a Dual 1.8 (rev. B) for myself at home, and it, too, is everything I'd hoped. It's also MUCH quieter than my Gigabit G4/400 (which surprised the heck out of me).

I've got the 9600XT in my DP 1.8, and we've got the 9800XT in our DP 2.5 at work. They're both pretty good video cards (the 9800XT, obviously, is better, but I have no complaints at all about the 9600XT).
Unreal Tournament 2004, with all options turned on full-blast, looks absolutely amazing on the 9800XT, and this is at the native resolution of our 23" Cinema display (1900x1200).

I (temporarily) have a 9600xt in my 2.0. It's a pretty good card, and a really, really good card coming from a Rage 128 Mobility.
I can run pretty much everything at 16x12 at the highest or next to highest settings and still get good frame rates. That said, I can't wait for the 6800.

Gotta say I've been nothing but pleased with my 2.5.
