Hi all,

I am not a Mac User but I need to know something technical about Mac OS X.

I want to know if the new OS changed the way new lines are encoded. Is it still CR or is it LF?

If someone of you, with OS X, could upload a simple text file for me, I would be grateful.
A file with just 2 lines:
line1
line2

TIA
Alex

It will always be LF in any Cocoa apps. It is usually LF in Carbon apps as well. The exception is older, poorly ported Carbon apps from two-bit software companies like Microsoft (yes, Word, I'm talking to you).

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
