Hello

I recently tested the latest mac mini at my local Apple Store

and I noticed that under system preferences it no longer has the Classic icon.

can you still use OS9 apps on the new macs?

No, OS 9 support died when Leopard came out (and possibly the change to Intel), you need a PowerPC machine and Tiger.

OS 9 died many years ago, time to upgrade or replace those apps.

What OS 9 apps could you possibly still have and need to run?

My reason is a few Classic games. Game publishers are notably closed-source, and tend not to update catalog titles for compatibility with later OS versions.
