For the most part Chinese regulation is in place to protect the government (the whole), and profit margins by imposing limits on safety and wages of individuals. Whereas in the US, regulation has at the very least, a little more emphasis on the individual's rights, such as safety, wages and environment. In china their instilled mentality is for individuals to sacrifice their wellbeing, for the greater good (the government). They're like ants.
I agree with you for the most part.
China is still a developing nation. Still pretty new to the whole capitalism thing. I think China is growing too fast right now for the government to regulate the market properly. They are focusing on what they think it's important at the moment. Seems labor regulations is probably at the bottom of their list, although a few labor regulations have passed in the last few years.
