When logged on to iTools account I am unable to open iDisk. The button to iDisk is selected but nothing appears on the desktop. This has been tried on two macs (G4/450, G3 Beige 266).

Also a second account was created to see if it was set up wrong on the first account. The same problem happens.

It was thought that maybe the problem was that websharing control panel and extension was turned off and that might cause the problem. Both were turned on and the machine was restarted. This did not help.

What's frustrating is the support and instructions on the website. To contact Apple regarding this probelm there are two ways. One is to send a comment or suggestion. The second is send a notice that another member is abusing iTools.

One item in the help area stated that there might be a firewall preventing idisk. I am looking into that.

Any tips, tricks, ideas or experience with iDisk would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard,

To use iDisk, you need to be running OS 9.0 or higher. You also need the following extensions enabled:

1) AppleShare
2) Shared Library Manager
3) Shared Library Manager PPC

Hope this helps,

Art
