Hebrew fonts do come with Mac OS X. I would guess that Mellel supports Hebrew writing. Maybe Pages as well? Word on OS X doesn't support Hebrew or other right to left scripts.

Mellel has the best reputation when it comes to Hebrew writing; indeed, it's supposed to be one of the things that Mellel was designed for. I have no experience with it personally, however, so I can't really vouch for it.

A few Hebrew fonts come with OSX out of the box, and they seem to get the job done.

Hebrew works.
I can also type in Word and it will display OK, but it's not a semetic-friendly word processor.

The good thing about Mellel is that the authors of the software are from Israel. And it is Unicode compliant. Thus, you can use OpenType fonts, even from the windows side.

I have successfully used Hebrew in Mellel.
Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

Nisus Writer used to be the premier Hebrew word processor, but AFAIK they have yet to release an OS X-compatible package that does Hebrew natively.

Be-chatzlachah (Good luck)!
