i got two 512MB chips for $74 each for my pismo from transintl.com last month. Those chips are now $89 each. price went up slightly but still a good deal.
Also, their 256MB chips are $49, not including shipping.

www.ramseeker.com allows you to compare prices from various sites, but $40 sounds about right. other world computing seems to have really good deals on ram.

Other World computing (www.macsales.com) lists a 256mb chip for the Pismo for $39.95. This is slightly higher than it was a few weeks ago when you could get them for around $35.
