I suppose I'll jump on the bandwagon...

Here's my current desktop, although I get bored with it quickly, and so it changes almost monthly.

Honestly? The way the windows overlap and stuff in OS X means I rarely see the desktop by itself over the course of a day, unless I specifically hide all the other applications.
I don't like the Desktop and Finder acting like 2 different things, but it's just something to get used to, I suppose.

I know everyone has probably seen this question a million times but what is the program on you desktop that displays all the sys info? I tried DesktopConsole but could figure out which log to show...if infact that is even the right app. Thanks much. Keep the desktops coming.

Aurally Trashed background
Dock Dividers <-- right click and save as
With Dock Dividers, you need to drop them one by one into the Dock on the right hand side, they then move over to the application side. Wish I could remember where the hell I got this from so I could give props and a link to his/her site. I love these things!

I used Zipit to create it since I do not have Stuffit Deluxe. I got it from VT.
It extracts fine on my machine (10.2.1)

I really don't remember. I posted a link to the desktop pic with the blonde wearing the headphones above. Here is the Christina Ricci pic.

EDIT:I created a Dock Dividers image file to replace the .sea file I orginally posted. I updated the link above. The server I use for hosting seems to strip the creator codes from the .sea I created. Just go back and right click, save as the new .dmg
Enjoy!

DiskSpy works well for me. You can open contents and make your own TIFFs too.

I have a question for all those of you who have those great looking desktop.

How does one change the icons/themes of the computer and how can I change the font color and window style of my terminal window?

Thanx!

Wow! That's really cool how you integrated your icons into your background. I also like the fact that there are no green squares in your iCal Looks like your life is as exciting as mine.

BTW, thanks for the desktop Gatorzx2!

Using Aquamon the same as in my desktop, although Vanquish has turned many of the settings off, and changed the font.

There is a hack to remove the dock icon somewhere too, although I can't remember where it is.

I posted this in a topic called Coolest OS X Hacks a while ago. If you couldn't be bothered following the link here is what i said:
Originally posted by ShotgunEd:

I have hidden the dock icons of several apps, AquaMon is always running on my machine and i never change the prefs so i just hid the dock icon. The same with shadow google.

To Hide the icon, right click (cntrl click) on a application package, and click show package contents. open the contents folder and open info.plist. If you have dev tools installed use PropertyList editor, otherwise just use text edit.
Modify the entry called LSUIElement and change its value to 1. Save changes, and then open your newly modded program and it should have no dock icon.
This only works on cocoa apps and once you have set it to have no icon you cannot change its prefs, unless you change LSUIElement back to 0. Also, to quit the program you will have to use Process Viewer or the terminal.
There was some talk of using NSUIElement instead of LSUIElement but Apple recommend using LSUIElement. Also you may want to use the Propertylist editor as some people experienced unexpected results using textedit. Follow the link above if you are unsure.

Thanx for the info schep.

Another subsequent question though:

Downloaded Duality and I downloaded a simple theme, just to test. When I tried switching I got the following error:
Mac OS X was unable to copy a necessary file. The theme change has been canceled
At first I thought the file I got was a corrupted, so I d/l'd a couple of other themes to test. Same error.

Thought that maybe Duality was messed up, so I deleted it and d/l'd a new copy and installed. Re-installed the themes to the ~/library/theme folder. Fired up Duality again and tried switching. Same error pops up when I try to load up any theme.

Anyone know what's going on?
