I'm having trouble troubleshooting this problem:

My internal speakers no longer play. I can plug in some speakers or some headphones and it plays just fine. In the preference pane for audio, there is only "stereo headphones" for the output choices. should there be a setting for internal speakers?

in this screenshot, you can see the preference pane that does not have an entry for internal speakers.... How do I add that back?

I just realized that even when plugged into a stereo, only the right channel plays any audio. Noone has any ideas?

yes, i know what is wrong, and i have returned to this forum to find the answer. there is a pin bent in your headphones jack that switches between your jack, and internal speakers. there might be a terminal command that allows you to switch, but im not sure.

Try launching a program called Audio Midi Setup (do a spotlight search).
