One of two things is happening here...
1. Mark Prior is just that good.
2. The Cubs are just better than the Marlins. When you win a game in extra innings by one run, I don't think you can definitively say that one team is better than the other. When you go up 8-0 in the 4th after loosing a game in extra innings the night before, I think that says saying about the character and skill of a team.

That was an amazing game. Let's see 'em do that two more times.
Actually, let's see them do that six more times.

This all but guarantees that the Cubbies will be in the World Series.

One more game to go and it's the World Series! Yeah! I miss Captain Oblivious' comments about how the Cubs pitching staff would collapse from overuse...he's always good for some comic relief...

Did any of you hear the rumor that in the movie Back To The Future II or III MJ Fox's character is in Las Vegas in the year 2003 and he sees on a scrolling marquee that the Cubs beat Florida in the World Series?

Coralville, IA has a great manmade lake! I was swimming there with my brother and his wife. They have a boat and we went to a cove that looked like Lake Havazu, AZ spring break. I wish I went to University of Iowa. Champaign, IL has a..... oh wait, there was nothing cool near University of Illinois.

Yeah. According to the movie, the Cubs will beat whatever the name of the future expansion team from Miami will be called in the World Series in 2015.

Ah, Coralville Lake. Yeah, the U of Iowa is a pretty cool university. I went there for a while, but dropped out. Too much of the, ahem, extracurricular activities.

i participated in some of those activities my sophomore year and wound up in jail for the night. just a recomendation, if any of you plan on smoking any illegal substances in a friends dorm room, don't do it. jail sucks.

Good advice. And you especially have to be careful in Iowa City because the cops are always looking for any excuse to arrest students. I personally have never been arrested, but had many close calls in my younger days. Just say no, kids.

You know, my first college roommate almost transferred to the University of Iowa for that very reason.

Is that right? It should also be pointed out that the University of Iowa has more than its fair share of, um, eye candy, if you know what I mean. I love driving downtown and having a look.

Yeah, that was the biggest reason why he wanted to transfer there. He complained that the girls at Drake University were wearing too much clothing.
As you might imagine, he failed out of college after the first year. (Almost didn't return after the first semester.)

Nope, the Red Sox also have to be in the Series to trigger Judgement Day, and the Yankees are making sure that won't happen.

So much for today's game, but Mark Prior pitching in game six virtually guarantees that the Cubs will be in the World Series.
Get ready for rioting in Wrigleyville.

My hat goes off to Josh Beckett for pitching an excellent game tonight. He was unstoppable. The Cubs will win Game 6, though.

Let's not forget Alex Gonzalez's (the one who plays for the Cubs, not the one who plays for the Marlins) inability to field a routine ground ball. Kerry Wood will have to get things done tomorrow night unless the Cubs pull off some kind of miracle comeback.

What the hell was Dusty Baker thinking leaving Prior in so late? Marlins were going deep on him throughout the 6th. I would have expected home runs by the 7th and already started warming up the relievers.
Jeez. Who thinks this is going to hang over them all the way into game 7?

That's Dusty all the way, man. That was the knock on him here in SF. He was TOO loyal to his players. There's been at least 3 incidents in the playoff's while he was here where he left a pitcher in too long.
Bummer for the Cubs.

I feel really sorry for the guy. Hes not safe in Chicago. (and they just kept showing him over and over. He was police escorted out of the stadium. Hes probably already dead. but hes not the only one of those guys who tried to catch the ball. They all should've been removed.
Man, I have to play in chicago tomorrow near wrigley. I'm a little worried one way or another.

Theres no guarantee moisus would have actually caught the ball. I think Gonzo's error is bigger.
