Quicktime player and Fullscreen

Is there a way to play a movie with the Quicktime player in
*TRUE* fullscreen (i.e. no window title bar, no play button, ...)
thanks.

You need upgrade to QuickTime Pro.

Once you upgrade, I think you press command (apple)+m
Then from there, choose full screen from the drop down menu.
But try this to see if it works.

Or... He could surf to http://download.info.apple.com and download Quicktime 2.5 which allows fullscreen mode and exporting. The English-International is unavailable, but there is an English-British version.

Yeah, nothing like a 3 year old software... and codecs to match!
2.5 really wouldn't be a solution. It won't read newer encoded stuff, and it's compression is outdated...

That's not true. MoviePlayer/QuickTime Player are ordinary apps which call QuickTime's media handlers to open and display QuickTime movies. So, all you need is MoviePlayer from QuickTime 2.5, and today's QuickTime extensions to play any QuickTime content. The main things you'll be missing are an "Open URL..." command and possibly support for MPEG-1 video.
That's the beauty of QuickTime. As long as the QuickTime-using application makes the appropriate calls to QuickTime, it will always be able to work with the latest and greatest. I even have the original QuickTime 1.0 beta release and the sample apps included with it will open Sorenson encoded material. That's a 1991 app!

hmm really? I heard that the 2.5 player worked with QT 3.0, but that 4.0 and up disables all the cool stuff in the older players. But i'll try that out and see. . .

Not if your system came with 3 or 4 or 5 preloaded. You'll have recieved a voucher to get Pro.
