A Mac Pro motherboard.

In other words, it doesn't use an off-the-shelf PC motherboard. Its a custom design, but does use a standard Intel southbridge I believe.

An Intel Motherboard, Manufactured by Hai Hon Electronics Co. (FoxConn)

It has 4 PCI-Express slots, one double-wide. It uses a pair of 1333Mhz Busses, and can support two Xeon proccessors. It has support for up to 6 SATA devices, and two PATA. It uses two RAM riser cards for support of up to 16GB of RAM. The chipset has 28x PCI express lanes, which can be configured for use in the various slots. It has a connector for internal BlueTooth and Wireless a/b/g/draft n.

Is there anything you want to specifically know about it?

Edit: Fixed FSB speed as per Simon's correction. (I should have known, I own one of the damn things!) Thanks!

Intel northbridge (5000X) and southbridge (I'm guessing an ICH8 variant).

You might check the fellas at forums.insanelymac.com or osx86project.com. They, uh, probably are working along the same lines as you are.

A pair of them, in fact.

Intel S5000XVNSATA is the closest. It adds pair of PCI-X slots, 32GB RAM ceiling, integrated graphics, serial and PS/2 ports, but lacks Firewire and has one less PCIe slot.
