Here are some ideas that I've put in practice.

Facebook birthdays: On my Facebook homepage there's a little column box on the right. I made a tiny web clip from that.

Ron Paul fundraising info found on the left side of this website RonPaulGraphs.com - Q4 Donation Statistics & Stuff Something cool to check out with the press of one button.

Any other creative ways to use Web Clip?

I wanted to use it on my GMail page to see when they enable IMAP for me, but it doesn't seem to like webclip.
After creating it as a webclip the page loads to my inbox and not to my GMail setting's page.

The otherwise useless Excite.com has the best sports scores section on its customizable portal page. I tried to web clip that, but with no luck. I can't get any web clips to work. I highlight the section of the page I want, click "Add" and then nothing. When I go to Dashboard, I just get a white box with the Safari logo. My content is nowhere to be found.

I also tried to web clip the Sirius Satellite Radio player. No go.

We had a teeny bit of rain yesterday in Los Angeles, and I wanted to track it, so I made a couple webclips out of some live precipitation radar images that I found on a local weather website. Great stuff!

NOAA weather watches and warnings- just in time for the Michigan winter! Nice thing is that I can click on any part of the state and it brings me to the local weather forecast for that part of the state.. brilliant.

I will be using it for a couple comics, Fake Steve Updates, YouTube updates, eBay updates. I think that's it.

As the movies widget doesn't work outside the US (or for a lot inside it I understand), I webclipped a frame of now showing films from SKYCITY Cinemas - Where Movies Live - SKYCITY Cinemas - Where Movies Live - unfortunately due to their annoying frame layout and overlap you can't interact with the content, but it does keep updated at least.

Also odd is that you can't grab scrollbars in webclip widgets - trying to results in you moving the whole widget around.

I tried clipping the gmail widget from my iGoogle page, it clips fine, and stays clipped in the right spot, however when I click on new mail nothing happens. at the least I'd like it to leave dashboard and go to safari and on to gmail for me to read my message.

I made two clips the other day. One stopped working. That was the end of that.
