I've noticed that my left speaker seem to slightly louder than my right? With the balance set in the middle (under Sys Pref), I still notice there's a slight biase to the left speaker. Have I got some loose wiring in my PB or is this normal?

This is a known issue in pb15 and with jaguar. The problem is gone in Panther...if that is any comfort. It is not the powerbook...it is the OS that slides the balance over. I think this happens when you use the volume up/down on the keyboard under heavy load.
Anyways, it is fixed with panther. Works for me

Ya, I have been getting the same thing under Jaguar. It is set in exactly the middle, and the left is still louder. I was really worried that I might have damaged my right ear.. so, it's good to hear that I didn't.

whoops!
Just read the post again, and we are talking about two different things here....sorry. The balance actually get moved over in jaguar (the slider in sys. pref.)
If there is a difference in amplification while the slider is in the middle...you have a whole different problem.
Sorry about the misguidance!
PS...think I saw another post on this a while back...have you looked for that?
Maybe it was this one I saw...
