I am so sad now =( Anyway, here's some followup questions for all you college basketball experts out there:

1. Does UNC grab #1 in the polls if they beat Duke today?
2. Is this loss a good thing for U of I?
3. Will this effect their seeding in the NCAA tournament?
4. Will this effect their region in the NCAA tournament?
5. Will this effect their paired #2 in the NCAA tournament?
6. Will U of I be able to handle a team with a dominant big man in the NCAA's?

I will no go cry myself to sleep...

1. NO. UNC has THREE losses and one of them came to Santa Rosa or some crap.
2. YES. Rather lose now than the tourney.
3. NO. #1 in the Indy region. Easy road to my home city.
4. NO.
5. NO.
6. Maybe. I was working so I only caught a little bit of the game but it seemed like we were getting dominated down low. Augustine and Roger really need to step up.

I bet you anything UNC is #1 in the polls... I can't believe I stooped to the level of rooting for Duke!

Reading the thread title, I thought this thread was about something important.

Yeah the East Coast Bias will probably rear its ugly head tomorrow. I really believe that we will still be #1, but just barely.

Why do you care? It's a poll. They'll both get a #1 seed. This isn't college football -- the polls don't matter.

That's a bummer for Illinois.

I was hoping to see another undefeated team. What was the last one? Was it Indiana in the 70's? 80's?

Who wants to bet that they wont be the winner of the Big Ten Tournament next week?

I dunno. I have a feeling they might just go out there and try to rip everyone in the Big Ten apart to make a statement.

That 1990-91 UNLV team came about as close as it gets.

You think that was depressing?

Try being 2nd row with your friends in the loudest RBC Center I have ever heard when we had the game IN HAND against #4 Wake Forest, and then that complete ********* Paul wins it at the buzzer.

EASILY the worst officiated game I've ever seen (even Wake fans there were baffled), and Chris Paul finds justice to hit Hodge in the NUTS for no reason?! Okay...that's good sportsmanship. And Hodge ends up getting a Technical instead of Paul?! I mean, if you watched SportsCenter last night they even showed it...what a cheap shot. If that loser gets player of the year, there is something seriously wrong. This isn't his first time, he hit a Dookie in the face earlier this year and played it off.

We were all set to rush the court after the upset and we got hosed. Oh yeah, the officials added an entire SECOND to the clock at the end, exactly the amount of time it took the ball to swoosh. Horrible, horrible night...

Maybe we'll do well in the ACC tourney. Go Pack

I made $50 on the game today. With any luck we knocked Iowa out and sent them to the NIT. As for tomorrow, with the UofI coach being a mess and the team playing pretty bad today (for the #1 NCAA) I think we have a real shot of a repeat of last year.
UW has been playing in spurts the past two days but hopefully they can pull themselves together and upset. I wouldn't normally care but the loss at the Kohl Center this year was a buzz kill and this would be a nice end for Illinois season within the Big 10.

Yet my degree is worth 5x what yours is. Funny how that works.

What the hell does that have to do with the inadequacies of your basketball team?

Nothing, but the Captain has to occasionally remind us that we're all inferior to him.

What makes you think Texas is going to get to the 2nd round?

God I love this time of year.
Agreed. It's about time basketball season really started.
