I have a 20" dual core iMac. I own it from the last 6 months

I started photobooth and the camera view dimmed to total blackness, after which it doesnt show anything at all. I even restarted the computer but the problem persists.

I tried the webcam view in Yahoo Messenger too. But i still get the darked out image view. It is totally inky black. But the camera light does say that the camera is functioning.

Has my isight cam burned out

Does anyone know about it ?

I looked through the apple site, and all i had to do was power off the computer, unplug all devices, including keyboard and mouse.....take out the power plug and wait for 15 seconds.

Power on the system and voila.....the camera is back in action

Not exactly. This seems to be a pretty common problem, and what I seemed to have done by rebooting the machine is an SMC firmware reset.
