DL 2 won't harm DL 1 data base?

I just want to confirm that trying out DL2, it makes a copy of my DL1 database, but leaves it (the DL1 files) where they are, untouched, so I can ditch DL2 if I find it lacking?

This is correct. Your library will be transferred when you download Version 2, but Delicious Library 1 will continue to be fully usable--you will have two completely separate applications.

So how do I move my data over from DL1 to DL2? I've tried exporting each library (books, games, music, movies) to a text file and then re-importing, but when I import the games file, I get the following error...
<*** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (41) beyond bounds (41)>
...and then the program quits.

Doesn't DL2 move the information over for you? The first time I launched the beta, DL2 imported everything from my DL1 library.

That error you got is what I saw when I tried exporting my DL1 library and importing it into DL2. I was on the beta test and have submitted an error report on this problem but haven't received a reply yet.
You're making it way too hard! Just try opening DL2 without doing anything else. It'll find your DL1 library in the Library > Application Support > Delicious LIbrary folder and (depending on how large the library is) after a minute or so, a message will display saying DL2 is upgrading your library.
Good luck with it!
