Hi,

Check out a pic of your house taking by a satelite...

Type in your address here

Some times is not that accurate so look around a bit...

Oh, by the way if anyone knows of a better website that has this kind of pics and are free please say so...I found this to be a cool desktop pic too.

PS: My roomates say I am easily amused...so if you find it lame just save your comments, Thank you.

I was able to find my house. Wish that it had the ability for a closer view. Thank you for the link!

Well, considering a U.S. department was the one to take these shots, it seems to make plenty of sense.

You're government probably wouldn't like ours to take pictures like that, although I doubt that's stopped us... we just don't make it public.

And I was able to find my home town. Brought back fuzzy memories as I traced the route from one end of town to the other when I went to school, or to a friends, etc. Being little in a small town is cool. Being a teen and anything older in a small town sucks.

If you're lucky your local county might have GIS information with more detailed and recent aerial photos plus all sorts of information.

My county, Maricopa in Arizona, has a great GIS portal. Unfortunately it requires using Explorer. It has aerial photos taken every year.

Your previous governments have done some very naughty things on German soil-but always got away with a slap on the wrist.
The current government isn`t that forgiving though.

Here's another website that provides aerial photos. The images are in color but it's watermarked with a logo. It's really a pay site for aerials photos and maps but it allows you to search with just a street address. Again it's US only.

When Microsoft first introduced Terraserver, the Terraserver used IKONOS photographs that covered both U.S. and International locations. This changed a few years ago.

My latest issue of Reason magazine had my name and an aerial shot of my neighborhood (I was able to find my house) on the front cover...a very neat stunt for their subscribers. The featured article? 'Database Nation.' On the inside cover was some general demographic information for my neighborhood...avg household...2 people...avg household income...$80,000, etc., etc. Cool stuff.

Uk people can see a slightly lower resolution version here
its not super resolution because it was done by a commercial company who are selling the pic's both in a 'visual atlas' of the uk and as individual high resolution photos. But there is a preview availble on the web.

If you have access to a PC Multimap has a cool feature where it can overlay the picture over the map.

You are obsessed with me Rob. Do you have a crush? Sorry I am taken.

EDIT: A quick update. Sold the red car in the driveway and replaced the roof of the whole house since this picture was taken last Spring.

Here's a picture from terraserver.com. I subscribed for 7 days and everyone I know is begging me for aerials of their house now.

Near that baseball diamond is a nice park we take the dogs to play fetch and let them run around everyday. All cities need more park space.

We chose to move close to my parents because my mother has Multiple Sclerosis and we try to help them as much as we can.

It's quite funny that someone else there brought your name up first! Even funnier is what they said about you.

What were you searching for? "Kilbey" or "imaxxedout".

Here's the thread for those of you who are interested.

Old Soviet spy photos??
Something like this pic of area51

Compare with this soviet pic of same building.

Didn't find my house. Instead I found the dirt where it now stands. Looks like the photo was taken of my neighboorhood right when they got some of the streets paved, and were just begining on a few houses a block north.

It's amazing to see how much my area has grown in under 2 years.

I see my house!

And it makes me distrust the city planners even more... the way the roads look is just insane.
