If you are talking about recovering a damaged HFS filesystem, then Prosoft's Data Rescue is probably your best bet. Only caveat is, it requires a second hard drive to save the recovered data (on the assumption the one being recovered from is damaged). If Data Rescue can't recover your data, your only other option is Drive Savers, but that can cost up to $2K US.

HTH.

Maybe Indiana Jones can help. After all, he found the lost Ark, maybe the lost Data won't be too hard.

How was the data lost? Deleted file or crashed drive? Deleted file under OS X is like rm in unix. Adios data. If it is important, call DriveSavers. They will take your drive apart and pull the data off bit by bit.

Lesson learned from Star Trek: Nemesis - Always back up your Data.
