Hey all,

I was in a computer shop about 5 months ago or so, and was checking out the apple hardware (as you do ).

I noticed the powermac they were running with a widescreen display had a really wicked background (nb, it wasn't a screensaver).

Basically what it was was a vortex which you kept going further and further into, whilst the colours on it kept changing and the vanishing point moved from left to right on the screen.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and where I can get it from?

Thanks.

That sounds like someone running a screensaver as their desktop. That can be done with an app like BackgroundSaver X.

Optionally, it could've been a Quicktime movie running as a background (activated via the terminal or through an app like this.

It's possible I'm wrong here, but those were the first two things that came to mind.

From your description it sounds like they were running the screensaver Plasma Tunnel as a desktop background.

Download Plasma Tunnel

BackgroundSaver X is good but so is Backlight 2.0
