any warnings about refurbished powerbooks?

Does anyone have any cautionary tales about buying refurbished product from the Apple Store? I'm returning to school in June and need to grab a 15" G4 Powerbook and the prices in the refurbished section are tempting me. I'd need to take it to a local dealer and get the RAM bumped, but apart from that there is only the fact that it's refurbished.
Does anyone have any experience with these items?

I've had my refurbished TiBook three years next month. It's been great.  Get AppleCare towards the first year of ownership if you plan to keep it for a while.

No advise my PowerBook is almost two years old and had problems with it.

I've had 2 refurbed low-res 15" G4s in the past 6 weeks. Both had multiple issues, including terrible displays and tweaked cases, and both were sent back to Apple. Don't know if it's just my bad luck or if Apple's QC is slipping. Hope you have better success than I did.

Just got my 12" Powerbook on Jan. 13th.
No problems here. The thing looks brand new. I saved 2-3 hundred bucks over even my edu discount by going reburb, and i've no regrets.

I owned a refurbished Al. 15" powerbook for at least a year or two - Out of the box the machine had a scratched screen and dinged-up case. For what it's worth, I called up Apple that day and within 3 days, that's including the day I sent it out for repairs, I had it back good as new. Since then I had no problems of any kind. So, the initial QC seemed pretty bad, but they were very good with quick repairs and turn-around.

its not a PB, but I bought a refurb Airport Express that works great, no problems

If you're going back to school, you might consider apple's education store special deals, which can be close to refurb prices. Also, replacing PB RAM is pretty easy to do yourself ; check RAM prices at ramseeker.com, order what you need, and save money by installing yourself.
