I saw this on the Apple boards

and thought i would try it.

Before I tried it my battery's capacity read

"IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=4872..."

After this method it read

"IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=5110..."

Using this command in terminal:

ioreg -l | grep -i IOBatteryInfo

I suspect Apple killed the link because it let people get more from their macs than what they paid for.

Apple Discussion links always auto-expire after a certain amount of time. It's been like this for some time and to my knowledge there is no way to post a link to the topic that will stay working. Just go to the discussions and search for it.

I've been searching for this discussion at the Apple forums with no success. If anyone could point me to this article I'd really appreciate it. I'd love to get some more time out of my PB battery, especially for flying. My flights to the east coast are generally 6 to 7 hours and the more time I can get out of a battery, the more work I can get done.

Are you referring to resetting the PMU?

If the computer is on, turn it off.

Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.

Wait 5 seconds.

Press the Power button to restart the computer.

I'm interested as well. I get 4379mAh capacity, down from the 4467 I had a month ago. And the battery is supposed to measure 4600mAh too.

nobody is going to be able to post a working link that will work for more than maybe 10 minutes.

I haven't been able to find it by searching, as I suggested earlier cause I thought you'd be able to find it that way, but alas no.

If someone who knows where it is at could tell us which forum it is under and the name of thread, we could all find it much easier.

I believe the method in question is what's the "Slow Drain Calibration". Very similar to Apple's calibration method except you turn everything setting on your laptop to low: display off, hd's spun down, no optical activity, minimal cpu activity. Then, let your laptop sit until it falls asleep.

I think it's just illusion that the laptops Ah increases. The laptop thinks it has a really high battery capacity because it was on for so long. You aren't actually creating more Ah.

Lancer, thats what I read about on the Apple forum about 6-8 months ago...So it may be the same slow drain method. i never tried it simply because I don't have 6 hours spare time floating about.

I just found a way to keep your PB going for another 3hrs. It only costs $129.99+tax+shipping+waiting in the mail+switching th.......excuse me did I say something about switching, I certainly didn't mean to say that.
