Lost my firewire port :-(

This seems to be a common problem with the powerbooks. I'm so bummed out. Got a pcmcia card firewire.. but I can no longer boot from a external hard drive.. it's not powered.

Get an external, powered FireWire hub. That should let you boot off of it...
