Can anyone help me out here?

I was looking up RAM on google and came across a Kingston 1gb chip for pretty cheap. It was DDR333 PC2700 CL2.5. I emailed the reseller and asked if this chip would work with my Powerbook, but was told that they do not support Apple products. That's all they said. Would this ram work for me?

What type of ram, exactly, can I use for a new 15" 1.5ghz Powerbook? And, yes, I know about Crucial. I am just not sure if any DDR333 PC2700 chip will work in the Powerbook or if it has to be a specific kind.

I believe you also need to look for 200 pin, other than that, i think as long as it is DDR333 and PC2700 you should be fine.

Actually, there are some 200pin ddr333 (pc2700) so-dimms that won't work due to their heat dissipation and power consumption (this would definitely be a factor when dealing with slim notebooks).

Unfortunately, there's no commonly-published spec that draws that line for this compatibility. You could take the model number and search for that and "powerbook" on google and see what you can find.

I know it has to be 200-pin DDR333/PC2700 with a cache latency of 2.5. I've seen modules with the same specs but different latencies on Crucial's site so be sure of what you're ordering.

make sure it's a so-dimm. a lot of people forget that.

and if it's Kingston, I'll bet my money that it works. personally, I only buy kingston, crucial, and other larger name brands.

the best price I've seen on a Kingston 1GB stick (PC2700 SODIMM) was around $300...

No problems with OWC's 1GB strip (Samsung) in my 1.5 GHz PB. It was the least expensive about ten days ago when I purchased. Crucial awhile back actually had the lowest price of all the suppliers and then it jumped. OWC's price now is about where Crucial's was IIRC.
