Can someone please help,
After using TNEF's Enough Carbon to convert a TNEF doc. I get error message, file to big to open in simple text. How can I now open this and in what?
also how do i open a .PPS doc.
Is there a site to show me what I need to open different types of documents? thanks

Oops, missed that one. Yeah, you can use PowerPoint to open a .PPS file.

Use BBEdit to open the big text file.
SimpleText is limited to 32K I think... the core systems in-built text editors limit.

I'd suggest you try Text-Edit Plus as a replacement for SimpleText. It has everything SimpleText has and tons of its own bells and whistles and is also much lighter than BBEdit IMO. There's also a X version (and a classic one runs on anything from system 7.1) and I actually use it all the time and absolutely love it. It's a shareware but you can not pay if you don't want to.

As a rule of thumb, the idea is to 'ante up' to the author if you do indeed keep and use 'shareware' regularly.

That's true. Text-Edit is somewhat different in this respect because the about box says this:
"You may use Text-Edit Plus for as long as you wish (i.e., there is no time limit on the trial period). You are under no moral obligation to send in the Shareware fee and you are under no obligation to erase the program if you don't pay the fee. Simply think of the Shareware fee as a much-appreciated way to encourage future development and to say "thank you!"
It is attitude like this that really wants me to pay the damn fee
