(Don't say 'practice, practice practice.')

I'm sitting here in my hostel in SF, and I feel like since I've finally made it to the Other Coast I ought to head to the mothership.

What's the easiest way to utilize public transportation and get from SF to the Apple headquarters in Cupertino? I'm as far as Caltrain to Sunnyvale... then it seems like there are bus options, but it's all a bit murky, and I'm not even sure of the distance. Plus I've been walking everywhere for the past week.

I know it's silly to waste my time and go, since there's nothing to see but the gift shop, but I'm sure many of you will understand my desire.

Any good ideas? Thanks!

Directions.

Doesn't sound too difficult. Can you rent a car the day?

Thanks much for the suggestions. To clarify and then repeat, I do know where it is and I'm sure that I'd be able to get there if I were to drive, but I cannot rent a car for the day and as I said I am looking for public transit options.

So basically I'm asking for help from anyone who has made the trip utilizing public transportation -- or anyone who knows the area.

Otherwise I'll have to figure out which VTA bus line to use which, from the maps available on their site, might be a little tough, haha.

Thanks!

I've heard that Apple runs a shuttle from the cal-train station to the campus, but I don't know if non-employees are eligible, or when/how it goes etc. I know that's not much help, but maybe it is.

SF has transfers, and they're usable as many times as you want to use them, but the time on them is only an hour (it used to last ALL DAY -- or half the day at least) *sigh*

Yeah, that is a lot of money. Heck, for $10.00 I would have driven you down there and back (just not on a Monday).

Good luck with your trip and have fun at Apple. Just don't spend too much on the logo merchandise.

Sure, and millions of people are in great danger because of being listed in the Whitepages...

Yep, HI Hostelling International City Center. I thought about it, and then realized "by the time they come to get me I'll be back in NYC."

I made it! And it wasn't even THAT difficult.
