The Diary Corporation has launched a namesake iOS app that is built on Apple's CareKit and HealthKit frameworks. The Diary app, in conjunction with its companion web portal, gives users the opportunity to control their own health history as well as allow users to manage and monitor chronic health conditions via their iPhone and Apple Watch. When the full platform is completed, with the forthcoming launch of a new desktop application for healthcare providers, users will be able connect seamlessly with health care providers who will be able access a complete record of a patient's health data and diarized symptoms.
"The Diary enables effective care coordination based on real-time patient-generated data," said Kirk Saunders, a health director of The Diary Corporation. "Collaboration between patients, family members, and providers is the next big step in population health management."
The Diary app allows users to dictate symptoms and vitals, generated either by their Apple Watch, or other wearable device data with user permission from the Health app on iPhone. It also allows users to create reminders so that they can better follow care plans and take any medication on time. By combining lifestyle, psychosocial, and medical records, The Diary app gives users a digital record of their complete health story, which they will be able to share will health care practitioners as well.
The Diary app is
available now on the App Store and requires iOS devices that support iOS 9.0 or later.
